What Is The Role Of The Respect Marshall?

RESPECT MARSHALLS
Let’s all remember who we are here for!
The Respect Marshall Role has been introduced this season across all youth leagues across the county of Staffordshire.
Respect Marshalls have been in operation across many youth leagues in other counties for a few seasons and have been viewed as a positive influence in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for young people to enjoy their football.
Your participation in the role of Respect Marshall is primarily to support the referee, team manager and coaches in promoting the Respect agenda and to remind your own parents and spectators of responsibility to adhere to your club’s codes of conduct.
The Respect Marshall should not be someone who comes into conflict with others and should be there to remind all that this is a youth game and to escalate (pass on) any issues to the Team Manager / Coach or Referee to address.
GAME

The expectations of the Respect Marshall’s role can be identified using the acronym G.A.M.E. This means the following:

G is for greet The Referee, Manager / Coach, Respect Marshalls from both teams and Assistant Referees will meet before kickoff. (Respect Marshalls will be identified by wearing the yellow bib.)

A is for Acknowledge The referee will explain the levels of behaviour they expect from everyone (including spectators). The Referee should outline action they will take if there is unacceptable behavior. The Respect Marshall from each team should then remind their respective parent / spectator group of these expectations.

M is for Monitor Respect Marshalls should then monitor their spectators. They should not come into conflict with anyone but if comfortable they should remind spectators of the level of acceptable behavior.

E is for Escalate If you feel uncomfortable with a situation, then this should be raised with the Team Manager / Coach or brought to the attention of the Referee. It is up to these officials to then manage this situation appropriately.

REFEREES, TEAM MANAGERS/COACHES and CLUBS

Respect Marshalls are appointed by teams to help to monitor the highest standards of behaviour possible from spectators.
If there are issues, the Respect Marshall should report this, not get into conflict.
Respect Marshalls need to be honest, fair and observant.
Respect Marshalls should write clear notes from incidents as soon as possible after an issue, including actual language used (if appropriate).

What Age Group Should My Child Play?

Age groups are decided by a child’s age on the 31st of August each year. Your child’s age on the 31st August allows them to play in age groups as follows:

How Do I Confirm My Fixtures?

For Mini Soccer (U7 – U10) just arrive at your venue at least 15 minutes before your kick -off time. On arrival just go to the league registration desk, pay your registration fee and the fixture manager will direct you to your pitch.

For U11 – U17 you can confirm your match via the Full Time or the Matchday App.

Please let your fixture secretary know as soon as possible if you cant make any week.

Do I Need To Supply Or Confirm a Referee?

Referees guidance for managers:
 
U7 – U10: The centre manager will sort your referee out for you, no need to do anything.
 
U11 – U12: The centre manager will sort the referee but you will supply an assistant(Linesman/Woman). The referee will supply a black bib and flag for the assistant referee. Please make sure black bibs are used wherever possible.
 
U13 Up: The Home team should confirm the ref using details from full time and our website (if all is set up correctly an email with details should be received). As before supply an assistant and use the black bib provided. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CALL YOUR REFEREE.

Can I Submit My Result Via Text Message?

For Mini Soccer no.

For U11 – U17 team administrators will be allowed to enter their results via SMS for their team. Instructions on how to do this are sent to each team administrator using the mobile phone number you provide just after the kickoff time for the fixture.

Only results from these mobile phone numbers will be processed.

If the same mobile phone number is used for more than one team then the team administrator will be required to enter the team short code when sending in the result.

You can create up to two team administrators per team.

What Is The Role Of The Respect Marshall?

RESPECT MARSHALLS
Let’s all remember who we are here for!
The Respect Marshall Role has been introduced this season across all youth leagues across the county of Staffordshire.
Respect Marshalls have been in operation across many youth leagues in other counties for a few seasons and have been viewed as a positive influence in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for young people to enjoy their football.
Your participation in the role of Respect Marshall is primarily to support the referee, team manager and coaches in promoting the Respect agenda and to remind your own parents and spectators of responsibility to adhere to your club’s codes of conduct.
The Respect Marshall should not be someone who comes into conflict with others and should be there to remind all that this is a youth game and to escalate (pass on) any issues to the Team Manager / Coach or Referee to address.
GAME

The expectations of the Respect Marshall’s role can be identified using the acronym G.A.M.E. This means the following:

G is for greet The Referee, Manager / Coach, Respect Marshalls from both teams and Assistant Referees will meet before kickoff. (Respect Marshalls will be identified by wearing the yellow bib.)

A is for Acknowledge The referee will explain the levels of behaviour they expect from everyone (including spectators). The Referee should outline action they will take if there is unacceptable behavior. The Respect Marshall from each team should then remind their respective parent / spectator group of these expectations.

M is for Monitor Respect Marshalls should then monitor their spectators. They should not come into conflict with anyone but if comfortable they should remind spectators of the level of acceptable behavior.

E is for Escalate If you feel uncomfortable with a situation, then this should be raised with the Team Manager / Coach or brought to the attention of the Referee. It is up to these officials to then manage this situation appropriately.

REFEREES, TEAM MANAGERS/COACHES and CLUBS

Respect Marshalls are appointed by teams to help to monitor the highest standards of behaviour possible from spectators.
If there are issues, the Respect Marshall should report this, not get into conflict.
Respect Marshalls need to be honest, fair and observant.
Respect Marshalls should write clear notes from incidents as soon as possible after an issue, including actual language used (if appropriate).

What Age Group Should My Child Play?

Age groups are decided by a child’s age on the 31st of August each year. Your child’s age on the 31st August allows them to play in age groups as follows:

Do I Need To Supply Or Confirm a Referee?

Referees guidance for managers:
 
U7 – U10: The centre manager will sort your referee out for you, no need to do anything.
 
U11 – U12: The centre manager will sort the referee but you will supply an assistant(Linesman/Woman). The referee will supply a black bib and flag for the assistant referee. Please make sure black bibs are used wherever possible.
 
U13 Up: The Home team should confirm the ref using details from full time and our website (if all is set up correctly an email with details should be received). As before supply an assistant and use the black bib provided. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CALL YOUR REFEREE.
