WJYL Grassroots Football Restart

Following a meeting tonight with both Staffs FA & then the WJYL Committee, it is our intention to restart the league from 11th April 2021. We have also been given an extension to the end of the season, instead of having to finish by the end of May, we can continue till the end of June 2021. Obviously, this extension will be dependent on pitches and centres being available till June.

If any of your teams do not wish to resume, please let me know along with the Fixtures & Age Group Secretary asap.

There will be Microsoft Teams meetings for all teams and referees on 24th & 25th March 2021. These meetings will be staggered into 4 groups, mini soccer, 9v9, 11v11 & Referees. Links will be sent out for these meetings. These meetings are important and will outline what will be expected on match days & will outline any further updated guidance received from the FA.

The player registration/transfer deadline has been extended to 7th May 2021.

Applications for next season will soon be available online. Due to the issues of the past 12 months, we have decided to keep the cost down to £25 per team for entry to the league this is a large reduction on the usual price.

We are proud to announce that our Referees Secretary – Alistair Smith – has been awarded ‘Grassroots Match Official of the Year Runner Up’ by Birmingham FA. Thoroughly deserved recognition for all of your hard work Alistair – well done.

Whole Game Registration Drop-in

We are holding a ‘Whole Game Registration Drop-In‘ session for all Club Officials on Tuesday 17th July from 7.00 p.m. until 9.00 p.m. Venue: Conference Room, Sports Centre, Walsall Campus, University of Wolverhampton. Representatives from Staffs FA and WJYFL will be in attendance to assist and give advice on registering players. You will need to bring a laptop or tablet and all of the paperwork you need to register your players onto the system. Photographs of players will need to be saved onto your device in order to upload them to the Whole Game System.

Disabled Parking
